New 2011 HONDA CRF450 EXHAUSTS
While we applaud Honda’s direction, the stock exhaust, when sound tested, is drastically lower than current AMA standards leaving ‘power on the table by giving away dBs’ and pushing racers into dealerships to bolt on DR.D performance. Beginner riders to Professionals will instantly feel more bottom, mid, and explosive top-end power on the first ride with a DR.D exhaust.
While new part numbers were required for the exhaust, as mounting brackets on the 2011 are different than ‘09/10 CRF450, it should be noted that that DR.D Graphic Kit and Radiator Lowering Kit part numbers remain unchanged as each fits prior model year.
The 2011 CRF450 is available in Stainless Steel/Aluminum, Stainless Steel/Carbon Fiber, Titanium/Titanium; Titanium/Carbon Fiber variations. In addition, new for 2011 is the offering by DR.D of a Slip-On system for selected models, including, but not limited 2011 Honda CRF450.
AP Racing’s 2010 YZ450F MXA Project Bike
Check out pictures of the AP Racing 2010 YZ450F project bike, set up with gear and tweaking from AP Brakes, L.A. Sleeve, CP Pistons, Precision Concepts, Hinson Clutch Components, and Trick Racing Fuel. From Motocross Action Magazine:
“All in all, the (stock) 2010 Yamaha YZ450F is a good motocross bike—not a great one, though, because it needs more power, improved top end and a sleeker layout. To that end, the MXA wrecking crew ordered up four full-race, hopped-up 2010 YZ450F project bikes. We told Hot Cams, AP Racing, Yoshimura and Pro Circuit that there were no holds barred—choke holds, arm bars and knee drops were allowed. They were asked to build the ultimate expression of what a YZ450F could be.”

THE TORTURE TEST - NIKS INDUSTRIES YAMAHA WR450F
We at Niks Industries felt the Yamaha WR450F was very close to being an all-around dirt bike right off the showroom floor. Although considered a “big pig” by the common motohead, we looked past its shortcomings at what we could do to shape and trim this Ding Dongs-donut-eating-princess and turn her into the captain of the cheer squad and certified prom queen.
