Taylor Robert wins last round of WORCS
October 2009

Northland Motorsports/Precision Concepts Kawasaki Race Team Report: Worcs Round Ten
Riders:
Taylor Robert Pro KX450F 1st
Jamie Lanza Pro KX450F 7th
Robby Bell Pro KX450F 12th
The last round of the WORCS series took place in Mesquite Nevada. It is notorious for it's sand whoops. This year would be no exception. With no rain in the forcast, and temperatures in the 80's, There would be dust and silt. The DT1 air filters would be tested to the limit. A good start would be critical.
When the gate dropped, Taylor nailed it and shot to the front. Robby was in the top 10 with Jamie mid pack. As they rounded the first lap, Taylor maintained the lead with 5 seconds over 2nd. Robby ran 6th, and Jamie 13th. For the next several laps, Taylor continued in the lead. He was looking strong 10 seconds up on 2nd, and over 30 seconds over 3rd.
Pit stradagies were now coming into play. You don't want to be passed in the pits. We decided to push everyone as far as possible. On the 7th lap, All 3 riders were in for a gas. It was close, with only a splash left in the tanks(thank you IMS), but it paid off and Taylor continued with the lead.
While Taylor's lead dropped to under 5 seconds at one point, By lap 10, it was out to over 25 seconds. Robby continued battling for a top 5, and Jamie moved into the top 10. Lap times began to increase as the course became more rough. Only the strongest could push hard to the end.
On the last lap, Taylor sailed off the hill jump. His lead was now over 30 seconds. He came down pit row for the last time to huge cheers. This was his 1st Pro win in only his 1st year as a Pro. He did it in dominate style leading every lap.
Robby settled into 7th at the finish. It was his best finish of the year. He challenged for 4th early on, But a smashed foot suffered at the 24 hour, and a smashed finger here slowed him a bit. Jamie had a day he'd rather forget. He worked hard, but getting back from Portugal on Wednesday, racing Enduro Cross the night before in Denver, and flying back in Sunday morning with no practice took it's toll. He took 12th.
In all, we were very happy with how things turned out. As a first year team, it was our first win as well. This feels awesome as all the hard work is paying off. Thanks again for all the help, and we will continue to push hard for the results and press to promote our team and sponsors any way possible.
